October 10th - 27th 2006
A fun and educational program The Little Farmer Pumpkin Program
is designed to introduce children to all that the season on
the farm has to offer, perfect for kids of all ages. With the
purchase of a Pumpkinville Pass children will enjoy activities
such as our "Life Cycles" Seed to Seed program, bees & pollination,
a hayride, pumpkin picking and much, much more!
PROGRAM
Check In at Christmas Shop
Receive a coloring poster for each child and a Pumpkinville
Pass
Meet the farmer
Pick up education materials for the learning centers
Hayride to the Great Pumpkin Patch
Each child, parent & chaparone will pick their own pumpkin
The Teacher will pick the pumpkin for the classroom
Bags for pumpkins will be issued at the tractor loading area,
* Please show pumpkinville pass for the quantity of bags needed.
Group Hayride back to your Vehicle
As your time allows (Just show your pumpkinville pass)

- Aquatic Plants & Fish- Bees & Pollination- Life Cycle of a
Pumpkin (Seed to Seed)
Visit Fort Pumpkin & the Barnyard Babies
Tour the Christmas & Halloween shop

Costs
Oct. 10th - 27th $5 per child, parent & chaparone
Oct.30th & 31st are rain dates
The tour is FREE for Teachers
DIRECTIONS: FROM RICHMOND
Take 95 North to the Ashland exit 92B, Go to the 3rd Traffic
light turn right on to Route 1 go 4 miles turn left at the yellow
blinking light (old ridge rd / Rt. 738 ) go 4.1 miles farm is
on your left.
1.) After you have scheduled your fieldtrip please send
someone out to the ashland berry farm to pickup your free pumpkin
for the contest.
2.) Ask each student to estimate number of seeds in pumkin
and record their estimations on their sheet. (click
here for pdf or thumbnail below)
3.) Once everyone is done, scoop out pumpkin seeds onto
newspapers and count actual number of seeds.
4.) The one student from each class whose estimate is
the closest to the actual number will get a prize from ashland
berry farm.
5.) On the day of your fieldtrip please bring the winning
students and their estimation papers to the Christmas shop and
they will be given their prize.
